FASHION-Y FRIDAYS: Unexpected

Hi Friends!! :o)

Yes, another Fashion-y Friday is upon us and no, I was not planning on featuring me again, but my subjects went out of town for a road trip and well, this is as about as creative as I could get for coming up with another subject. Pretty boring, right? hahah.. you can say yes.

Right. So, I was going to feature my sister-in-law and little nephew in a mother-son kind of shoot... Little Max has the coolest wardrobe of any 2 month old I've ever seen and his mom is pretty darn stylish, too, so I thought why not? Anyway, I find out Wednesday that they are headed to SK to visit some family and that leaves me whimpering, "well, what about my blog post??" *To myself, of course* And, to be fair, I simply asked my SIL if she would like to be featured sometime.. We never really set a specific date... :o) Anywho, on with the show, right? Isn't that the saying?? It is today... :o)

Today is interesting. We are in the middle of April and it has been snowing steady for the past 24 hours. I guess "interesting" is putting it mildly. Let's just say I'm not a fan. Today, April 15, 2011, was going to be the day that I got out my springy stuff and put winter-y stuff away... I was pumped and excited and then yesterday I wake up to SO. MUCH. SNOW. that I wanted to let out a tiny little scream. It snowed all day yesterday, all last night and it just stopped like an hour ago. Anywho, what are ya gonna do? The best you can do is just inject as much spring into your outfit as possible and call it a day. Fine. Done.

Today's ODJ:

-black full circle skirt (RW&Co.)

-black and white striped tank with flower motif (Target)

-denim jacket (Mexx via Dots)

-sheer black tights (no idea where these came from! ha!)

-cream socks (Joe Fresh)

-black covered wedge boots (Aldo)

-coral flower in hair (H&m)

The tank top and cream socks help... I just really wish I didn't have to wear tights. Again.

Mind you, who really wants to see my pasty legs anyway?? hahah.. Blessing in disguise, my friends, blessing in disguise.

A Vlog!! Well, 2 Vlogs... {due to lack of editing skills}

So! This is me vlogging! Ha! It's not really much of anything, but I thought it would be fun to try it out... now I just need to learn how to edit bits and pieces together! I skipped out on the gym tonight, so this will have to count as my form of exercise this evening! It totally counts, right? Right?? hahah...

It's back to the grind for me now... :o( Actually, so far I am having an ok week at work, so no complaints from me. Yet. It is only Tuesday. Actually, I am very much looking forward to the weekend... (ha! and I was just saying it's only Tuesday.. dear me!) Friday night, I'm going to a baby shower, and then my cousin and his fiance (newly engaged!!) are coming up and we are headed out to The RanchHouse for supper with them on Saturday evening! We will probably "talk shop" (read: wedding stuff) as Tyler and I are joint MC's at the wedding! So fun!! We can't wait!

Over The Weekend!

Wowzers! Being away from the blogging world for a few days is like being away for a few months it feels like! But it's all good: it just means I get to curl up with a big cup of tea and a blanket and catch up on my Google Reader. Love it. Better than a stack of magazines, any day. :o)

So as you probably know from one of my last posts, I was in Canmore for a scrapbooking retreat, which was awesome!!! Just us girls and a ton of food, a good soak in the hot tub, a little shopping and not very much sleeping! I don't feel like I accomplished much as far as scrapbooking goes... I have a hard time talking and scrapping! hahah.. anyway, below are some photos from the weekend!

We consumed five food groups over the weekend: grains & breads, fruits & veggies, dairy products, meats & mini eggs. Yes, I ate so many mini eggs, they became their own food group... I am officially cut off for the rest of.... well, forever, really! ha! :D

And then this is what I came home to!! Tyler had painted our fireplace!! We have been talking about doing this for 2 years or so now! And to think: all it took was me going away! haha... I think I need to do that more often!! Oh, it's so pretty and I love it and now the begging to build a mantel will start.. ha! (The colour is called Cream Puff)

This has nothing to do with my weekend, but it was the only shot I could find of what our fireplace used to look like.. and wow, what a difference! I love the how bright and clean it looks now! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you babe, one million times over!!

PS He cleaned the house over the weekend, too! And then my dear sister-in-law (above) and her husband had us over for a BBQ Saturday evening... pretty sweet weekend all in all... :o)

How about you guys? Anything exciting? It's so funny... these kinds of weekends seriously come around like once a year for me.. :o) I guess that's why I cherish them so much. If I posted a "Over The Weekend" blog next weekend, I'm sure it would photos of laundry, house cleaning, walking the dog and so on.. ha!

Oh yes, and due to copious amounts of scrapbooking, hot tubbing, shopping and eating, there was no Fashion-y Friday post! Sorry! But coming up this week, for sure! :o) Stayed tuned!

March Faves!!

So I never accumulated any goodies for my March Favourites post... for some reason, I was a little preoccupied with something else... *wink wink*

Anyways, I thought instead I would put together my favourite outfits from the challenge... Some of them I wrote the day on them, but I forgot to on some of the others, so from left to right it's Day 24, Day 2, Day 15, Day 23, Day 12, Day 17 & Day 22! (No particular order)

It would be cool to get some of your feedback! (Which is so lame.. I know! Seriously, Jessica, who is gonna care enough! :P) What were your faves? I'm just curious, that's all.. ;o)

It's a B-E-A-U-tiful day here today and I am loving all the melting and mud puddles and sunshine and birds singing.

My Day

Gotta love Mondays! :o) My day is not very exciting today... But I am gearing up for an exciting weekend, so I will take a blah-mundane day today!! Here's a little of what's going on in my world today... *Brace yourselves. You may just be blown away*

Menu Planning and grocery shop list making. Yeehaw. This week includes: tacos, pork lo mein & something chicken-y, I can't remember... Thank goodness for the Kraft Canada website.

Vacuuming and dusting the main floor... Yeehaw.

Editing and uploading photos (to a jump drive so I can take them to Costco to get printed!) from our Reno trip (2007) to scrapbook this weekend!! That is exciting! What's not exciting: how far behind I am on my scrapbooks! Ugh! 2007!!! I still have 3 years of scrapbooks to catch up on! Oh well.. this weekend will be a chance to catch up on all of that...

Packing for our scrapbooker's retreat to Canmore this weekend! Whoot whoot! I don't know if I am more excited to scrapbook or just catch up with some very dear friends of mine...

(PS I am a bizarre-ly early packer. I get my suitcase out like a week before I leave and start packing bits and pieces a few days before... I'm lame like that. ha!)

And if my dear friends will allow me, I am going to feature them all on Fashion-y Friday, Weekend Scrapbookers Edition!! It will be a group session sort of thing... I think. I'm not sure yet. I haven't thought this out very well, have I? Ha! Anyway, just an idea rolling around in my brain... I just think it would be fun to document my friends and their style.. everyone is so different.. It's not about being all fancy-schmancy.. It's about being REAL and that's what makes everyone unique..

Or I might just ambush them with my camera and not let them have a say as to whether or not they can be on my blog. Hahahah.. just kidding, I would never do that...

Well, I am off to Costco and the grocery store and possibly Payless Shoes for a little wee browse- through, if time permits.

Or maybe I'll stop at Payless first.

That's one way to make "time permit": Do the fun stuff first. :o) haha

It might feature me and Tyler some weeks or just Tyler or maybe other people who I think are totally rocking a cool outfit.. (could be my nephews or niece or my sis-in-law or friend or whomever!) Let me know what you think!
