30 for 30 Remix Challenge! Wanna join me?

So, I stumbled across a really unique challenge on this wicked-awesome new (to me) blog I found.. she linked this 30 for 30 Remix Challenge from another blog and then I found it on her blog... etc, etc... you can see how this goes.. ANYWAY! The jist of the challenge is to pick 30 items (including shoes, but not accessories) from your closet and remix them into 30 different outfits for 30 days. Ya. That's a style challenge if I ever saw one... :o) But I am so excited to try it and if anything, after 30 days, it's really going to make me love everything else in my closet even more! Oh ya, and no shopping for 30 days either!
I think that a whole bunch of bloggers did this together back in the fall 2010, so clearly I am way behind on this. But who says I can't do it on my own...?? :o)
Anyway, for all of March I will posting photos of my outfits and how I've reworked the 30 items I've chosen into new outfits... ahhhh, it's sounds so scary when I say it, but I'm super excited... The idea behind it is the whole "shop your closet" theory... which is so cool! And I think this challenge even narrows it down more by making you get those creative juices flowing in trying to conjure up new outfit inventions everyday!
So below are my picks from my closet and what I am going to be loving/wearing/washing/repeat for the next 30 days! Wish me luck! And join me if you want! We can be each others inspiration/cheerleaders! :o)

Feb Faves!

So - time for February Faves! This month has been lousy cold, so my focus has been on what warms me up... body, mind and soul! :o) What warms you guys up?

Firstly and foremost, this gal is a huge fave for February! Well, not just this month; all the time... :o) But this month was extra special because the lovely JessC cleaned out her closet and so kindly thought of me to take a peek through the "give-away" pile... Out of everything, I put THREE (that's it!!) things back in the bag (remind me to give these back to you, Jess) and I can't wait to mix them into my wardrobe! Her style rocks, too: 1 part boho, 1 part vintage for a totally layered cool look... Love it!

What's this, you say?? Just hand soap??? Oh no, my friends, it's so much more than that! When I first unscrewed the lid at BBW to smell this frosty pink mixture, I though the scent was ehhhh, ok. At best. Minty, refreshing but nothing spectacular. (The only reason I got it was because it was on sale.. haha) BUT! When you add water and friction somehow this new scent appears. Yes.. the scent of chocolate. And it smells like an After Eight factory exploded in my hands and it takes all my will power not eat. it. all. up. Seriously. It's that good. Every time I used this soap all I could think is, "I can't wait to put this in my February favourites post." haha. I'm such a nerd.

YAY! I love this lip balm/gloss (C.O. Bigelow from Bath & Body Works) soooo much! This has been a favourite for about 2 years now, but it has been extra beneficial this month against the nasty wind and bitter cold. It's literally called "My Favourite Lip Balm" and is exactly that to me. It's got Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter and all kinds of yumminess in it! (Kimberly: you have such good taste in lip balm!! ha! I was giggling when I read your interview... Team Edward and now this.. ha! )

I have been loving this perfume all over again... Tyler got it for me for Christmas 2009 and as you can see I haven't used it much! I used to use it a lot when I first got it and then for some reason it got shoved to the back of my bathroom closet... which makes me so sad! Because I really really love it... the main notes are floral, which normally isn't me, but it's paired with citrus and a light musk and hmmmm... I love it! It makes me feel all warm during these wintery days... and plus, it's a gift from the husband... so every time I put it on I think it's him saying to me.. "oh PS, Jess, I love you... " is that weird?? haha

I feel like I am kinda behind on the headband trend, but I picked up these 2 (on sale!!) and I have been loving them!! They just add a little something when my hair feels so blaaahhhh.. which is a lot in the winter! ha! My mom got me the blue one from H&M and I got the white one from Aldo (stupid sale accessory rack is too close to the till... I'm such a sucker...) I'm normally a flower kind of girl when it comes to hair accessories, but I feel like I need a break from them... so welcome, headbands!! I surely am loving you!

This is not a fave for this month!!! This is just to show you all what it looks like in good ol' Alberta today! And just to show you why the next photo IS a fave... because on days like these..... (see below)

Tights are a girls best friend!! (and colourful ones at that!) Anything to brighten up an outfit, right?!? Most of these are Joe Fresh tights from Superstore, a few were gifts (the last pair on the right! Thanks, Candace!) and I just love them all! Thanks for keeping my legs warm and covering my pasty-ness. :o)

And last, but certainly, not least... my darling husband out shovelling... how can this not be a favourite!?!? Love him dearly... thanks for all you do, babe!

So, that wraps up February Faves! Do spill your "likes" from this month... Also, this month I have been really really loving my dog.. I mean, I always love her.. but this month she has been extra cuddly and just looking extra cute, too.. So, I heart you, Bronze! :o) Thanks for just being mommy's best gal pal...
Next post: a super fun challenge I stumbled across! I will be posting that tonight and I'm hoping some of you will do it with me!!
Until Next Time,
Jess xo

Welcome Max Ryan!

I'm an aunty again!! This beauitful baby boy was born on February 11, 2011 at 3:38pm... the little stinker came a bit early (he's being taken good care of in Red Deer's SCN), but he is healthy and just needs to rest to keep that way! Mommy and Daddy are healthy, happy and totally smitten... :o) These photos were taken a couple hours after he was born...
