A Few New Things!

Welcome to Winter!!
I guess, needless to say, our balmy fall is over! :( It was super fantastic while it lasted, but the inevitable has arrived: minus 30 and clear, sunny, cold days! I love the sunshine though...and I'm trying to learn to the love the cold... certainly makes one feel alive! Anyway! It has been an eventful past month and a half! Here is a quick update!
I'm starting a new job on December 7 with Alberta Central Tourism as an admin assistant! I am so so so excited about this new change, although it will be a steep learning curve I'm sure as this is a totally new direction for me! But I am excited! The bank has been great and I know I challenged myself in ways I thought I never would.. numbers have never been my forte, let's just say that!! So it was good to work that part of my brain, for sure! Anyway, I will definitely keep you posted on my progress with my new job!! I am looking forward to it!
A couple of weeks ago I said goodbye to my two door 2002 Honda Civic and now find myself the owner of a station wagon!! I love it though! I have been wanting a wagon-style car for a while now and I love it! Plus the all-wheel drive in this weather is a dream!! Below are a few pics of my new-to-me ride! (It's an 2005).

Also got a super-duper fantabulous present from my parents!! A new laptop!!! YAY! I am so excited about it! Before Tyler and I were just sharing a laptop, which was fine for the amount I used it (now that I'm off facebook, it's crazy how much more time I have! ha!), but now that Tyler is self-employed and working from home, it seems my computer time is less and less! Which is totally understandable! So this little gift is very exciting! Thanks a million, ma and pa!! It is much appreciated! PS It did not come with the jeweled flowers on it; that was my own doing! Ha! Had to jazz it up somehow...... :o)

Well, that pretty well sums it up! Anything new and exciting with you guys? It's weird... it always seems like nothing exciting happens for months and months and then, bam! it all comes at once! ha! Kind of intense, but kinda fun, too! :o) And stay cozy out there!

Nova Scotia 2010: Peggy's Cove

We spent Thanksgiving at Peggy's Cove and it was such an amazing day!! It was a perfect plus 10 with a slight breeze (for some good waves!!) We went with Uncle Martin, Aunty Wanda, Darren, Ronda and Merlin Lewis and Grandma and Grandpa Lewis... we capped it off with fish and chips (ate waaayyy too much of that for the week!), a stop at some stone carvings, the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial and a nap on the way home! It was a perfect way to end off our holiday!

Nova Scotia 2010: The Wedding of Dayle-Marie & Colin!

The wedding was absolutely beauitful and wonderful and amazing and gorgeous! There was a vintage, earthy and antique feel to the day.. very relaxed and a day full of laughs, tears and good stories! The bride and groom then flew off to the Big Apple for a week of sight-seeing, shopping, relaxing and a Broadway show! How cool is that??

Nova Scotia 2010: Miscellaneous

These are just some miscellaneous pictures taken during our time there... Tyler water-skied on October 5th!! (It was about plus 25 that day! Water was beautiful, he said!!) He also played squash and hockey, so it was a sports-filled holiday for him! (He loved it!!) Also had lots of airport runs, leisure breakfasts and a trip to the Annapolis Valley to visit the Lockharts! Mia Lockhart (my cousin's wife) owns a spa, so mom and I got manicures on the Friday before the wedding! So fun!

Proof of water-skiing!!!
One of many airport runs picking up family and friends!! This is our first look at Baby Trey Lewis... his mom and dad are Jared and Julie Lewis!
Baby Trey!
Breakfast at Gram & Gramps Baker!
Squash!
An night at Steven and Mia's! Wii, hot tub and lots of laughs!
Mom playing Wii!!!! She's so good!
Although my form is pretty sweet!
And to top off the sports week: Hockey!

Nova Scotia 2010: Lunenburg

Hi everyone!! We're back...sigh... they had to put us on the plane kicking and screaming, but eventually got us settled down and grudgingly we left beautiful Nova Scotia... reality has been hard to adjust to, but we're getting there! :o) We are now left with some of the most beautiful family memories I have ever experienced, along with some amazing sight-seeing, a knock-you-over-it's-so-gorgeous wedding, a water-skiing experience on October 5 (!!!!!), some shopping and a ton of laughs!

We took a PILE of pictures, so I decided to break them up... We arrived on October 2 and on the 4th we made a day trip to Lunenburg, which was so. much. fun. I love love love this classic-right-on-the-water Nova Scotia town; I would say it's a must see for any visitor! So, here goes!
Driving through Mahone Bay on our way to Lunenburg... amazing little town with quilt shops, chic cafes and a scarecrow fesitival!
First glimpse of Lunenburg!
A stroll through town... this is Main Street
I LOVE these old houses!! I think they are businesses now, but just LOOK at those colours!!
The bay from Main Street!
The name of this restaurant is Cilantro. So east-coast chic. Love the pop of the lime-yellow tree leaves against the vivid green.
Supper at the Old Fish Facotry!! Such history there! (And sweet fish and chips!)
Just being girls! ha!
